Cadette /Senior/ Ambassador Career Exploration Workshop for Silver/Gold Requirements ($5.00/girl)
Googly Eyes offers a workshop for girls working on their Silver or Gold Award. The workshop will meet some of the hours required for Career Exploration.  Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts will meet with the owners of the shop and explore the career of retail store ownership.  Girls will learn practical life skills that will cover nuts and bolts from inception to grand opening.  They’ll see what it takes to get a store up and running, and will use critical thinking, cooperation and team building to create their own mini business plan, create an elevator speech and find out what some of the resources are that are available to them. 

 

Cadette /Senior/ Ambassador IPs – Older girls can work on the following requirements at the shop.  Please understand that some requirements specify a “finished” item that might not be mastered or completed during the workshop time, so we cannot promise that the IP will be completed at that time. The time required and the cost for each IP is designated below.  You’re welcome to bring snacks and hold a short troop meeting either before or after the class.

 

Your Own Business (2 ½ hours; $10/girl)
Girls will complete the following requirements:Skill Builders #2, 4, 5
Technology #2
Career Exploration #2

Artistic Crafts (2 – 2 hour sessions; $15/girl)
Girls will complete the following requirements:
Skill Builders (choose 2 of the 3 requirements): #1 (group can choose from macramé, crochet, decoupage, metal embossing, jewelry making), 2, 3
Career Exploration #2, 3

Folk Arts (2 – 2 hour sessions; $15/girl)
Girls will complete the following requirements:
Skill Builders #2, 3, 5, 6
NOTE:  We will also be offering an adult quilting class that will help fulfill the Technology #1

Fashion Design (3 – 2 hour sessions; $30/girl NOTE: each girl must bring a sewing machine, AND each girl will need to bring a piece of clothing to the second class to be “repurposed”)
Girls will complete the following requirements:Skill Builders #2, 3, 5
Service Project #1

Just Jewelry (3 hours; $10/girl)
Girls will complete the following requirements:Skill Builders #1, 3, 4, 5

Paper Works (3 hours; $10/girl)
Girls will complete the following requirements:Skill Builders #2, 4, 5 + quilling

Visual Arts (3 hours; $10/girl)
Girls will complete the following requirements:Skill Builders #3, 6
Technology #2
