Girl Scout Workshops

Googly Eyes wants to help make your troop planning less hectic, so we’re offering some exciting badge workshops to your girls this year.  The workshops are open to all Girl Scouts in the Northeast and Texas Oklahoma Plains Councils.  Please use your council’s registration form (Event Registration for GS of NETX, and Troop Activity Registration for GS of TX OK Plains), and fax or mail the form directly to the shop (see contact information below).  The class is not scheduled until payment is received.  Please give us a follow-up phone call or email to verify that registration and payment has been received.  Workshops are worked into our existing calendar, so please notify us at least two weeks prior to your requested date.

When a class is scheduled it will be posted on our web site with the number of remaining seats available.  Classes will not be exclusive for a single troop or group unless payment is received for all available spaces.  Our minimum class size is six girls.  Individuals and smaller groups may contact us to have their names added to a waiting list.  Safety Wise adults must stay at the shop during the workshop.

All workshops are conducted by registered adult Girl Scouts.

Check out our store calendar for additional classes that your troop might enjoy (knitting, crochet, scrapbooking, jewelry making, sewing and quilting (for older girls)).  Girls who have the maturity and dexterity needed may join one of our scheduled classes, or we can set up a special time for your group.

Cub Scout Pinewood Derby

Googly Eyes is pleased to once again offer help with your pinewood car.  The clinics we offer are designed for the novice and the experienced car designer alike. Please call or come by to sign up, and let us know when you register whether you need a cutting or weight session. Cutting sessions are free, but the charge to add weights is $7.00. That includes all the weights needed to bring your car up to the 5 oz. regulation weight (limited styles of weights available).

NOTE:
• We ask that you design your car before you come to the clinic, or arrive for your cutting time about 20 minutes early to allow for design.
• Cutting clinics are still free, but we will be charging for adding the weights this year; $7.00, which includes all the weights needed to bring your car up to 5 oz. (Limited styles of weights included.)
• Only one car per appointment, please, so all outlaws must also register for a time slot.
• We are expecting to work on around 200 cars this year, so please register and keep your appointed time. We’re allowing only 10 minutes per car, so please be considerate of others who are also waiting for their time slot.

Googly Eyes also sells paint, decals, sandpaper, graphite, weights, extras and everything you need to make your pinewood car.
We can continue to offer these clinics when you support us through your purchases of pinewood and other crafting supplies.
