September Classes & Events

Adult Classes:

Beginning Machine Sewing “Fast and Fun Tote Bag” ($30 + M, NOTE: You must bring your own machine to class) - This class will teach you all the tips and techniques you will need to know about machine sewing and more.  While learning how to use your machine we will introduce a basic project for you to complete during the practice session.  A few lessons to expect from this class: getting to know your sewing machine, bobbin winding, needle choices, stitch length, tension, thread choices, threading your machine, sewing straight lines.

Copic Markers ($40/class, $75 for both)

Basics I – includes 5 Ciao pens & a stamp. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Basics II – includes 4 Ciao pens, a blending pen and a stamp

Copic Club – Start collecting these wonderful markers while you’re learning new techniques to use with them. There will be a new set of six colors offered each month, along with a technique class using those colors. If you already have the selected colors, you can substitute an ink refill for just 75¢ more for each refill. Everyone can join the club, but if you’re planning to attend the technique class it’s limited to those who have some experience with the Copics, so we HIGHLY recommend that you attend at least the Copic Basics I class.  In September we’re offering the club twice in order to find out which day/time works best for most.

Colors for September: YR15 - Pumpkin Yellow, YR12 – Loquat, YR18 – Sanguine, YG95 – Pale Olive, YG97 – Spanish Olive, E57 – Light Walnut

$45 for 6 Sketch markers and the technique class (add 75¢ for each refill ink instead of marker)

$35 for just the markers (add 75¢ for each refill ink instead of marker) . . . . . . . ..$12 for just the technique class

Crochet Basics ($30 / 4 sessions + M) – Four projects help you learn the basics in this 4 session class; chain, single crochet, double crochet, increase, decrease, tying off, fringe and reading a pattern are all covered.

Knitting Basics - ($30 / 4 sessions + M) – Learn the basics as you work on four projects; knit, purl, increase, decrease, read a pattern, sew seams

Not a beginning at knitting or crochet? Karen and Lisa are happy to welcome more advanced students into their classes. Let us know your skill level/what you’d like to learn and they’ll tailor the sessions for you, too.

One Stroke Painting

Monthly Class ($120 / 4 classes + M) – Learn all the basic techniques

Leaf Class ($45 + M) – Prerequisite for the Flower/Project of the Month

Project of the Month, Autumn Images Plaque ($30 + M) - Plaque is included in class fee

POI (People of Imagination) – We continue with our Manga experience at with a club for folks who have taken the class, might want to take the class, or are just crazy for Manga. “Club” membership is $20/month, and includes two sessions/month with Hunter, our Manga Maniac & instructor.

Scrap Challenge (due 9/18) - Purchase the kit for $5, create a 12x12 layout using at least a little of everything in the kit. Customers vote and winner receives a $20 gift card.

Scrapping Event ($10) – Bring a project, your supplies & we’ll all get creative! 15% discount 9PM- midnight.

Crafts Just for Kids:

Kids Learn to Sew ($32/3 sessions + M, NOTE: Students will need to bring their own sewing machine to class) - Students will learn how to use their sewing machines while making one of three projects; My Very Own Drawstring Backpack, My Very Own Tote Bag, My Very Own Pillowcase. The class is geared for 6 – 18 year olds. And remember – Boys can sew, too!

Children with the maturity and dexterity to handle the adult classes are welcome to register for those, also.
