Alcohol Ink Ornament

Alcohol Ink Ornament

This quick and easy ornament was created by BJ Holdar.

Materials used:

  • Clear glass Christmas ball ornaments (any size)
  • Alcohol inks; BJ used cranberry & gold ($3.49 - $4.99)
  • Alcohol ink applicator ($4.99), or you can use a piece of felt
  • Alcohol blending solution ($4.99) to blend, lighten, rework & remove inks
  • Terrifically Tacky Tape sheets ($3.49)
  • Glitter ($1.59)
  • Punch (prices vary)

Total cost will vary depending on the supplies you choose

Tools used:

Alcohol ink applicator ($4.99), or you can use a piece of felt

How to:

Dab on the cranberry ink on the outside of the ornament using the applicator or a piece of felt, leaving some of the glass clear.

Use the blending solution to blend, lighten, rework or remove the ink. You can add a second layer or a second color, if you desire.

After the outside of the ornament has dried, put a few drops of the gold ink into the ornament, cover the opening and shake to distribute the ink on the inside. Add more ink if necessary.

Punch out a decoration for the ornament using the paper punch and the Terrifically Tacky Tape.

Pull the backing off of one side of the tape and place the tape on the ornament.

Pull the backing off of the other side of the tape and dip the design into glitter. Shake off any excess.

Repeat, and make LOTS more!
