Papercrafted Clock

Clock

This clock was designed by Karen Easterling.

Materials used:

  • Store-bought clock (we bought ours at Target for $4.00)

  • Scrapbooking paper (59¢ - $1.99)

  • Acrylic paint ( 99¢/bottle)

Total cost (including tax) = approximately $7.50 for our stylish clock

Your cost will vary depending on the clock you purchase, how you decorate it, and what supplies you have at home.

Tools used:

  • Photocopier

  • Sponge

How to:

Remove the plastic face from the front of the clock.  There may be tabs on the back of the clock that keeps it in place.

Remove the paper face.

Cut the scrapbook paper down to 8 ½ ” x 11” so that it will fit through a copier.

Copy the paper face that you removed from the clock onto the scrapbook paper by running it through a copy machine.

Cut out the new clock face, including the hole in the center.

If you're going to decorate the clock, do it now, before you re-assemble it. Karen used a sponge to apply different colors of acrylic paint.

Re-assemble the clock, substituting your new face.

Other decorating ideas :

Use alcohol inks to color the clock. Layer different colors of ink onto the clock using an applicator.

Glue photos onto the face of the clock (in place of the numbers, even!)

Add stickers and embellishments to create a clock that goes with your décor.

Bling it up with glitter and rhinestones!
