NOTE: We recommend that you “design” your necklace and charms before you put them on the wire by laying them out on a beading board or piece of felt. Then you’ll be sure to get the look you want.

For the necklace:
Cut a piece of bead stringing wire 2 feet long.
Put a crimp bead on one end of the wire, bringing the wire back through the crimp bead to form a small loop.
Using the needlenose pliers, crimp the bead so that the wire is caught.
String the E-beads and contrasting beads onto the wire as you’ve designed.
At the other end of the necklace, put on a crimp bead and bring the wire back through the bead to form a loop.
Using the needlenose pliers, crimp the bead so that the wire is caught.
Cut off any excess wire, and stick both ends of the wire back through the first beads.

For each dangle on the necklace, put several bead onto a head pin (we used two E-beads and one contrasting bead).
Using the needlenose pliers, bend the end of the head pin in a partial loop. Before you close the loop, make sure that you’ve put it through the end loop on the necklace.
Cut off the excess part of the head pin and continue bending the pin to close the loop.
For each wine charm:

Using the needlenose pliers, on one end of the memory wire piece bend the wire to form a loop.
Twist the wire on the end of the loop around the charm wire to secure.
Put on the beads.
Cut the memory wire down to the size you want.
Using the needlenose pliers, bend the other end of the wire to form a hook.
We made one 2 foot long necklace and six wine glass charms, using an extra memory ring to keep the charms together. You could also substitute a split ring to keep the charms together. You should be able to make at least two sets from the materials listed here, so you could have two hand-make gifts for under $7.00 each and a little of your time! Add a bottle of wine or sparkling cider and you have an elegant holiday gift.
